Kim Brown on “When Mass Torts and Bankruptcy Plans Collide” at 8th Annual IWIRC at the Shore
LRC Partner Kimberly Brown, will serve as the moderator for “When Mass Torts and Bankruptcy Plans Collide,” during the Eighth Annual IWIRC At The Shore conference taking place March 5-6, 2020 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The program, which will take place from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on March 6th, features a panel that also includes the Honorable Karen B. Owens, United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware; Jessica Liou of Weil, Gotshal & Manges; and Natasha Songonuga of Gibbons. They will explore key issues and players related to plans in mass tort bankruptcies, including the use of 524(g) channeling injunctions (both in the traditional sense and on a non-traditional basis), protecting future claimants (the future of the future claims representative and whether class counsel can suffice), noticing the masses (creative solutions to providing notice and due process to millions), and proving feasibility (demonstrating the plan today is feasible in light of the claims of tomorrow).
IWIRC is a global community creating opportunities through education, mentoring and networking. Its mission is to promote the success of women in the insolvency and restructuring profession.
