Representative Matters

In re: Belle Foods, LLC, Case No.: 13-81963-11- JAC11

LRC served as lead counsel to C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (“C&S”), Southern Family Markets, LLC (“SFM”) and certain affiliates in connection with the chapter 11 proceedings of Belle Foods, LLC (“Belle”) in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama Northern Division.  Belle was a 57 store retail grocery chain located in 4 states with more than 2800 employees.  C&S and certain affiliates were Belle’s primary secured lenders, landlords and wholesale supplier of groceries and merchandise.  LRC advised C&S and SFM on all aspects of this liquidating chapter 11, including advice on the clients’ material pre- and post-petition secured claims (in excess of $40 million), the winding down and termination of Belle’s supply contract, and landlord and related executory lease issues.  LRC also negotiated the settlement of significant potential claims asserted by the Unsecured Creditors’ Committee of Belle Foods, LLC, and designed and negotiated a future structured dismissal of the chapter 11 case under terms favorable to C&S and SFM.
