Kim Brown Named to 2019 ABI “40 Under 40” Emerging Leaders in Insolvency Practice

Wilmington, DE (October 15, 2019): Landis Rath & Cobb LLP Associate Kimberly Brown has been selected as a member of the 2019 Class of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 40 Under 40 Program.

Kim was selected out of more than 350 nominees representing a broad spectrum of professionals from across the entire insolvency community who are committed to the highest standards of achievement. The “40 Under 40” is open to bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring professionals from around the world who are 40 years old or younger as of Dec. 1, 2019. Among the qualities and characteristics that the judges on the steering committee considered were academic training, achievements in representations on behalf of clients, authorship and publications, community service, dedication to the profession, inventiveness, leadership skills, mentoring, personal integrity, professional service, public speaking, sustained career progress, technical skills and work/life balance. Candidates were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, consulting, academia, and government.

The 40 under 40 honorees will be formally recognized during ABI’s Winter Leadership Conference, December 5-7, 2019 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.  ABI’s stated goal for the “40 under 40” initiative is not simply to create a one-time ceremony, but to fully engage those selected as future leaders in the insolvency profession and to build on the initiative each year.

Kim was previously selected as one of only 40 bankruptcy practitioners to participate in the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) annual Next Generation Program. In 2017, she was one of five finalists for the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) “Rising Star” award.

The American Bankruptcy Institute is the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals, made up of over 12,000 members in multi-disciplinary roles, including attorneys, auctioneers, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and others. ABI is committed to serving our members with high-quality conferences, comprehensive continuing education, effective legal research, and dynamic networking opportunities.
